February 25 – Snowshoe outing Solitude Outdoor Center, Big Cottonwood Canyon

If you thought Silver Lake was nice in the summer, you should check it out in the winter. The Nordic Center offers skating and classic ski track and snowshoe trails in an amazing setting near the top of the canyon. Bring your own ski or snowshoe equipment or rent it. They even have a chariot sled to pull toddlers in available for rent ($10 for two hours). Lessons are also available. The Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Cross-country ski day use fee - $15 adult day; $10 half day at 12:30; kids under 10 free. Snowshoe $5 trail pass

Meet at the Park N Ride at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon at noon. Carpooling is suggested.

March 18 – Cross country ski and/or snowshoe outing at Sundance resort X-C center

Sundance offers the rare combination of a pristine back country experience, immaculate wide groomed trails, and separate snowshoe trails. A full 15 kilometers of daily groomed trails are available for skating and classic cross country skiing. Snowshoers can explore our terrain on 10 kilometers of dedicated trails through the woods.

The Nordic Center is a full service facility with rentals and new demo equipment available for all ages and abilities. Coaching sessions for all levels available daily. Sundance X-C center phone is 801.223.4170, Daily: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Nordic Center (2 miles up Hwy. 92 from the Resort) Cost for a half day is $12.00.

Meet at 12:30 PM at the Beans N Brew parking lot on 11400 Street just off I15, just west of Home Depot.
